I just checked my stats for my website – I haven’t done it in a long time – and found that for the past few months my hits have been up substantially. One reason was that Lost post I made (tip: If you want people to read your blog, just type the world Lost. Lost Lost Lost Lost) but another was the fact that there are STILL idiots out there who don’t realize or don’t care that hotlinking is just not kosher.
I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. There were two main culprits, one being a message board. I didn’t read the thread too closely but it seemed to be about The Big Lebowski but it was also bashing women and stating that they shouldn’t be anywhere near a computer. Seems to me that it should be bandwidth and image stealing assholes who shouldn’t be allowed near a computer.
Learn to right-click, idiots. Hot linking is for thieves and losers.
Every once in a while I’ll enter a contest if it’s easy or if the requirements are interesting. A while back Pink Raygun had a contest to guess the top 8 movies in their March Madness movie tournament. I guessed four and I won. Woo hoo!
Embedded video removed – it messed up my template.

A few weeks ago a friend on a dog message board I visit pointed all of us to this site call lolcats. The site is a compilation of photos of cats (and a few dogs, birds, rabbits, otters and ferrets, but mostly cats) with captions.
The ‘cats’ have their own language and several running gags and, I hate to admit it, they’re freakin’ hilarious.
I prefer the blog version of the site: I can haz cheeseburger
The blog breaks it down into categories so that you can skip to your own favorite running gag.
Here are a few of my favorites:
I’m not a big fan of Hugh Grant (I thought Four Weddings and a Funeral was one of the most over-rated films of the 90’s) and while I don’t avoid him, I certainly don’t go out of my way to see his films.
I may have to seek out his latest, though. Romantic comedies that include Drew Barrymore usually have a little something special about them and that is usually Drew herself. She, like Reese Witherspoon, can take a run-of-the-mill character that would be dull and lifeless in most actresses’ hands and turn them into someone one can respect and even like.
Her latest movie, with Hugh Grant, is another romantic comedy titlted ‘Music and Lyrics.’ Not a real high-concept story idea, but the fact that it starts off with a dead-on recreation of an 80’s-style music video makes me even more interested in seeing it. We’ll probably wait for the DVD release but I know it’s something we’ll see eventually and probably enjoy.
Here’s the music video:

Just surfing around YouTube, looking for new Michael J. Fox clips (found his 1980 McDonald’s commercial – that was a hoot) and came across this. Children of the 80’s, enjoy.
(Let’s hope this works)

I really need to get me one of these guys…minus the spider monkey
This is a new comic that I ‘discovered’ today, thanks to Websnark. It’s a great comic called Skinny Panda and I urge all of you readers (what, all two of you?) to go check it out.
It’s time for today’s new item learned: Kyle MacLachlan is in a new movie called ‘A Touch of Pink‘ “So what?” you say? He’s an actor, that’s not news! What’s really nifty about it is that he’s playing the spirit of Cary Grant
I have always been of the opinion that MacLachlan’s comedic talents have been very under-utilized and I look forward to seeing him in this movie being a huge fan of both MacLachlan and Cary Grant. Visit the site to watch the trailer to see some examples of his Grant-impersonating talents.
![]() I visited Mr. MacLachlan’s official site today and was thrilled to see a picture of him as George Reeves for a project that never got off the ground. It’s a real shame that the project didn’t take off. |
