    Your rights are being violated if you can’t marry your partner (assuming you are both competent, consenting adults). Your rights are not being violated if you have to settle for a civil ceremony instead of a fancy church wedding because some religions or denominations don’t recognize gay marriage.

    Your rights are being violated if you can’t legally marry. Your rights are not being violated if you have to shop around for a bakery or florist or photographer because not all of them cater gay weddings.

    Your rights are not being violated if a florist declines to cater to your wedding, or if the owner of a pizzeria (which doesn’t do catering, anyway) says that they would (hypothetically) decline to cater a gay wedding. Your rights are being violated if your pizza restaurant or flower shop is driven out of business by death threats.
